What is a Single Basket Launch and Recovery System?
A single basket launch and recovery system, or single basket LARS, is a deck-mounted piece of diving equipment that lowers and lifts a diver basket into and out of the water using an A-frame and hydraulic winches. It’s built to give commercial divers a safe, controlled way to enter and exit the water, even in challenging sea conditions, while keeping the footprint on deck as compact as possible.

- Integrated Cylinder Storage: The basket accommodates 2 x 50 ltr x 20 bar breathing air cylinders, with an integrated storage cage for diving tools and accessories.
- Compact A-Frame with Dual Power Packs: A primary A-frame rated for 1.5 tons runs on two completely independent hydraulic power packs housed in a single partitioned tank.
- Man-Riding Guide Weight Winch: Hydraulically set for around 1 ton and tested to 1.2 tons per IMCA, running at 18 m/min with 150 m of 13 mm dia wire.
- Clump Weight for Stability: A 350 kg clump weight minimizes the effect of underwater currents and improves control of the diver’s umbilical.
- Twin-Motor Hydraulic Power Unit: A self-contained HPU with a twin motor setup, safety package, and adjustable relief valve set at 170 Bar.
- Container-Ready Transport: Fits into a standard 20 ft shipping container in its resting position for easy mobilization.
